Andros is the largest of the Bahamian island. One mile off the coast of the island lies the third largest barrier reef in the world. At The tongue of the ocean the water depth plummets from (30ft) to ( 6000ft).The reef runs about (170)miles. The cool waters from the deep flows upward against the walls feeding an unbelievable fishery. All this is surrounded by miles of fishable flats known worldwide for trophy bone fishing. The largest populations and biggest bonefish is found in the flats of South Andros. Some of the fishing areas are the bights, little creek, deep creek, beach cay, grassy creek, hawks nest creek, jackfish creek and water cay. |
